Recipe Name: Kanthipappu idly

Ingredients:
Idly rice - 2 cups, Toor dhal - 1 cup, Urad dhal - 1/4 cup, Red chilly - 2nos, Salt as required
Procedure:
Rinse 2 cups idli rice for a couple of times and keep aside. Rinse 1 cup Toor dal and ΒΌ Cup urad dal for a couple of times and then soak in water for 4 to 5 hours. Drain the water and grind the rice after that add toor dal and urad dal and grind the batter coarsely. Add the salt mix well with hand or spatula. Cover the bowl with a lid and allow the idli batter to ferment overnight. Add little tadka to the batter (oil+mustard seeds). Heat water in a idli pot. Meanwhile grease idli plates with few drops of oil. Pour ladle of batter in each idli mold and place the batter filled idli plates in the idli steamer and steam it for 10 to 12 minutes. When done remove the idli plate from the steamer and keep it aside for few seconds/ a minute. After a minute wet a spoon with little water (wetting the spoon with water helps to scoop idli from the idli plate). Serve it with onion chutney and majika miravakaya.
