Ingredients:
ONION CHUTNEY Onions - 6 Red chillies - 4 Coriander seeds - 1 tsp Tamarind juice Salt GREEN GRAM POORANAM Green grams - 1 cup Finely chopped onions - 1 Urad dal - 1 tsp Mustard - 1/2 tsp Salt Lemon juice - 1 tbsp Green chilli paste - 1 tbsp JILLIDIKAYA Rice flour - 3 cups Maida - 1 tbsp
Procedure:
ONION CHUTNEY 1. Grind all the ingredients together. 2. In a pan, add a spoonful of oil and a few mustard seeds. Allow the mustard seeds to splatter completely 3. Add the grinded mixture and saute it. GREEN GRAM POORANAM 1. Soak the green grams in water for about 1 hour. 2. Grind the green grams and add some salt. Bring it into a thick consistency. Make idlies from this batter. Once cooled, powder the idlies coarsely. 3. In a kadai, tamper the mustard, urad dal and sauté the finely chopped onions. 4. Add the green chilli paste, powdered idly, salt and lemon juice and put off the stove. JILLIDIKAYA 1. Boil 3 cups of water. Add some salt and 2 spoons of oil. Add the rice flour and maida in the boiling water and close the vessel with the lid. 2. Once cooled, knead the rice flour into a fine dough. 3. Take some dough and make jillidikaya. For the filling add the green gram pooranam and close it. 4. Steam the jillidikaya for about 20 mins. 5. In a kadai, add 2 spoons of oil, steamed jillidikaya and onion chutney. Saute till the heat develops. 6. Put off the stove and garnish with a sprinkle of lemon juice.
